Fatemeh Ashrafi

Fatemeh Ashrafi is a PhD candidate at RMIT University, jointly supported by CSIRO Data61. She holds a Master of Science in Applied Computer Science from the University of Göttingen, Germany, with a research focus on machine learning for anomaly detection and secure network protocols. Her technical background spans penetration testing, incident response, intrusion prevention, vulnerability management, and SIEM systems. Her current PhD research investigates intelligent alert prioritization in Security Operations Centres, exploring how global cyber threat intelligence can be leveraged to build predictive, sector-aware models that warn Australian organizations before coordinated attack campaigns arrive — shifting SOC operations from reactive alert scoring to proactive campaign intelligence.
