PhD Student
Akila Maithripala
Akila Maithripala is a PhD student at RMIT University, Melbourne, researching privacy problems and solutions in large language models and distributed AI systems. Prior to joining RMIT, I worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Colombo School of Computing, where I also completed my BSc in Information Systems (Hons).
Research: My work sits at the intersection of network science and information privacy, with a focus on developing topology-aware differential privacy mechanisms for dynamic, decentralised agentic networks. I am also interested in how privacy threats such as membership inference, model inversion, and data extraction attacks manifest in collaborative and federated learning settings.
